Modular Home Designer/Drafter

Immediate Opening for an experienced modular home Designer/Drafter.

Responsibilities Include:

Work with a growing team (5 currently) of experienced designers using Chief Architect and Autocad’s Architectural Desktop to develop preliminary plans, full sets, production drawings, and shipping lists for fully custom modular homes.
Draw CAD plans, develop shipping lists and review department’s plans.
Coordinate with production schedule and keep production fully informed on design parameters. Provide drawings and documentation to support a lean manufacturing environment.
Develop a relationship with our 3rd party regulatory approval firm.
Review and revise outsourced CAD design work, and relationship with outside subcontractors.
Review plans for code compliance.
Coordinate outsourced structural engineering calculations.
Maintain drawings and documentation..
Participate on cross functional process improvement teams.

Experience:

Prior modular design experience in a team oriented environment
Team Player.
Working knowledge of Autocad’s Architectural Desktop. Chief Architect experience a plus
Modular home design experience.
Experience in a lean manufacturing culture
Experience with quality systems, TQM, ISO, etc.
Knowledge of Building Code requirements
Structural Engineering experience, a plus.
